Who Moved Bulldozer Onto State Highway?
$25,000 Reward Offered for Information on Crash that Claimed Life of Local Man |
On Sunday, May 7, 2000, Shannon Yarbrough, 24, of Roland was traveling westbound along Arkansas Highway 10, west of Little Rock, when the vehicle he was driving collided with a large piece of construction equipment that had recently been moved onto the roadway.. |
Yarbrough died as a result of the injuies sustained in the pre-dawn crash. Sometime prior to 4 AM, 10-miles west of Little Rock, a bulldozer that was being used to clear right-of-way along the north side of the roadway was maliciously moved into the westbound lane of traffic. Yabrough had just cleared a curve east of the blocked highway and was left with only seconds to react to the obstruction
Arkansas State Troopers and Special Agents of the agency’s Criminal Investigation Division who have been involved in the investigation believe the bulldozer may have been moved from the right-of-way as a prank that quickly turned deadly.
A $25,000 reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for moving the bulldozer into the roadway.
The Arkansas State Police is asking for help from anyone who may recall seeing anything unusual along the right-of-way.

| Few Clues Left in Disappearance of Polk County Woman |
Arkansas State Police Special Agents were contacted by Polk County Sheriff's Deputies at Mena on Saturday, January 27th after a search of the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge area failed to produce any clues into the whereabouts of Gloria White Moore McDonald, 68, of Mena.
McDonald had traveled the same day to the lodge with her husband, step-son and a friend of the step-son. The group arrived about noon and set-out hiking along one of the nature trails that borders the lodge property atop Rich Mountain. About 150 yards into the hike, McDonald told the group she was returning to the lodge because of trees that were blocking parts of the trail. The three others proceeded along the trail ending their hike about a half-hour later.

Upon returning to the lodge the family and friend were unable to locate McDonald. The car the group had traveled in to the lodge was parked where it had been originally left and McDonald's purse was locked inside. A search of the car indicated none of McDonald's personal belonging were missing.
Repeated aerial and ground searches of the area have failed to produce any evidence that would explain what happened to McDonald.
McDonald was described by her family at the time of the disappearance as being in good physical condition. Weighing about 120 pound and standing 5-feet, 6-inches tall, McDonald was wearing a bright yellow hooded jacket, blue plaid shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes when she was last seen. McDonald was carrying a Minolta Riva Zoom 90 camera at the time of the disappearance.

On Wednesday, December 1st, 1999, shortly after 5 PM, West Memphis Police were dispatched to a report of gunshots fired at a truck passing along the 500 block of East Barton.

Investigators from the multiple law enforcement agencies assigned to the Morgan Nick abduction case have updated their files to include a new sketch of an unknown man wanted for questioning in connection with the disappearance of the child.
Morgan Nick was abducted from a baseball field at Alma on June 9th 1995. Early on in the search for the six-year-old child, police developed information about a man seen at the ball park who may have been in an older model faded red Ford pick-up truck.
The unknown man was described at the time as Caucasian, approximately six-feet tall, in his late 20's or early 30's, muscular build with short dark colored, or black hair and a short mustache and beard (3 to 4 day growth of facial hair). The man was wearing only cut-off blue jean shorts (no shirt or shoes). Individuals who saw the man say his chest was "hairy" and his voice/dialect pattern was described as "hillbilly".
Witnesses also report the pick-up truck the man was seen near or in had a camper shell with windows, covered by curtains, possibly on both sides of the truck.
